Welcome from the Orientation 2008 Co-Chairs
Dear Future Fellow Pritzkerite,
Hello and welcome to Pritzker! Our names are Megan and Jon, two members of Pritzker’s Class of 2011, and we are pleased and honored to be among the first to welcome you into our Pritzker family. The two of us will be serving as the co-chairs for your Orientation and will be interacting with you a great deal in the upcoming months. As we were recently in your shoes, we hope to guide you through your transition to medical school while easing your stresses, and adding to your excitement.
In these next few months you will be preparing for medical school and life in Chicago (don’t worry, it doesn’t really get that cold, we promise). While there are many questions, concerns, and logistics that go along with these changes, we first wanted to congratulate you on finishing the tedious application process (which means no more AMCAS) and being accepted into this wonderful community. As you prepare to embark on this exciting journey, please look to us as a resource for answering your questions, addressing your concerns, and negotiating logistics. Feel free to contact us via email, phone, or in person. We would love to discuss life at Pritzker, the fundamental values and principles of our educational system, the caring faculty, the diverse student body, the city of Chicago, or anything else on your mind.
This year, Orientation will begin on Friday, August 1, 2008 and will conclude with your White Coat Ceremony on Sunday, August 3, 2008. However, August and 90+ degree Chicago days are still a few months away (although the time will go by quite quickly) and until that time, you will be hearing from us often. You will be receiving a total of three different packages, the contents of which will also be available on this website. In the meantime, we encourage you to continue to reference back to this website for updates, reminders, and other important announcements.
We are looking forward to you joining us in August but first, be sure to relax, enjoy your spring and summer, and get ready for the great times ahead of you.
Cheers,
Jonathan Erlich, MS'11
